What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy that uses the power of suggestion to create positive change. In my group and one-to-one sessions, I use relaxation techniques to help the client(s) reach a state in which the conscious part of their mind is relaxed and their subconscious part is more open to suggestion.

Does hypnotherapy work?

As with all therapies, there is no 100% guarantee. However, hypnotherapy has the potential to work for those individuals who are committed and open to suggestion.

What will happen in a hypnotherapy session?

During the initial consultation, there will be a discussion around your goals and desires. I will gather personal information such as your lifestyle and any medication you may be on. This information will be kept private and secure unless you are at risk to yourself or other(s). Practical details such as how many sessions I feel might be needed, cost and my cancellation policy will also be discussed.

Each session will then commence with a welcome chat where you can ask any questions or relay any concerns you may have. It is during this time you can start to get comfortable. You will then have an indication where I will lead you into a state of relaxation, where your brain waves will alter and you will become more receptive to change.

Once deeply relaxed I will then use one of a number of techniques and approaches to assist you in reaching your desired goal(s). After the change work has taken place, you will then gently be brought back to a state of awareness. There will then be time for questions and feedback, along with any goal setting required between sessions.

How many sessions of hypnotherapy will I need?

The number of sessions a client needs can vary. As a guide, for one-to-one work, I suggest starting with six sessions once or twice a week. This can be reviewed.

How long will hypnotherapy sessions last?

Each hypnotherapy session, including the pre and post-talk, takes around 50 minutes to 1 hour. For group work, where there is more discussion, I allow 1 hour 20 minutes.

How much does it cost?

My fees are £45 per one-to-one session. My group sessions are £10 per week. My eight-week weight loss course is £10 per week or £70 if paid in full. Cancellation fees will apply.
